A Dead Rockstar

From The Lisp:

I’ve just learned about all the controversy surrounding Michael Savage and Rockstar Energy Drink, thanks in part to the relentless coverage of Perez Hilton v. Miss America.

Of Perez’ statement that Miss Cali’s comment cost her the crown: “I don’t know who that sick, fat, pervert is and I never want to hear his name. He doesn’t exist as far as I’m concerned. He is a piece of human waste with eyes. They take a pervert like him, a homosexual, and make him the judge of Miss USA. What does that tells you…”

Nice, right? It turns out that Michael Savage is Michael Weiner, a raging homophobic, racist domestic terrorist and the co-founder of the Rockstar energy drink company.

Some other blurbs of happiness:

“I don’t like a woman married to a woman. It makes me want to puke… I want to vomit when I hear it. I think it’s child abuse.”

“Now the illness du jour is autism,” Savage said. “You know what autism is? I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is.”

“Homosexuals have taken over every aspect of the culture. That’s how we have the president that we have…..Diversity is a cover for perversity.

“When I hear someone’s in the civil rights business, I oil up my AR-15!”

“I think a thousand of [Iraqi prisoners] held in the Iraqi prison should be given 24 hour — a trial and executed….they should put dynamite in their behinds and drop them from 35,000 feet, the whole pack of scum out of that jail.”

- on a transgendered murder victim: “Why should we have constant sympathy for people who are freaks in every society? The freak ought to be glad that they’re allowed to walk around without begging for something.”

He railed against the relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina and called the Red Cross “anti-American.”

He characterized poet, educator and civil rights activist Maya Angelou as a “liar,” “moron,” “fraud,” and “dirtbag.”

And finally, his highest chart topping hit, the one that got him fired from MSNBC back in 2007:

“You should only get AIDS and die, you pig… Go eat a sausage and choke on it. Get trichinosis.”

I think it’s fair to say that Rockstar Energy Drink is dead in the water. You know what to do. (Pass it on!)

Thanks for the boycott hint Alexander! I have way too many friends who drink that stuff and will now all will be alerted to dump it! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog – I have spent a couple of weeks every year of my life in Tucson visiting my beloved auntie and the desert references make me smile. Keep up the fabulous work!

Post Part II – my brother is a beverage distributor and sells Rockstar. I will have to get his opinion as well.
I did some research: following from Salon.usa:
Rock Star is a family business. Michael helped formulate the drink, drawing on his long-time background as as a botanist and herbalist. Wife and mother, Janet Weiner handles Rock Stars finances. Russell has toured with his father, helping to promote his father’s extreme beliefs. By all accounts, he seems to share these beliefs enthusiastically.

Beside being ceo-ed by a monumental douchebag, a follower of the phelpsian monster, no doubt, Rockstar drink is mostly water and sugar and artificial flavoring that is bad for the body. So each reason is enough by it self to boycot the vile product!

  4. RG says:

I agree with Boris – why would you drink that crap in the first place? It’s garbage, and so is the owner Michael (Weiner) Savage.

Oh. Wow. Those quotes are unbelievably intolerant and ignorant. I hate Rockstar anyway, because it’s just bad, but this ensures that I’ll NEVER buy it.
