Bravery, Defined

Going back into an active battlezone for a kitty & fish…meanwhile back home big strong men are whining over wearing a piece of cloth over their faces and getting a couple pokes in their arms.

Ukraine is showing the world why the United States is rapidly becoming the laughingstock of the world.

Ours is an empire in collapse.

What's So Difficult To Understand?

Look, I hate wearing a mask as much as anyone, especially at work. We don't have to mask-up when we're at our desks and six feet away from anyone else, but I can't tell you how many times I've gotten up, walked halfway to my destination and realized I'd left my mask at my desk. It's not fun, but if we are ever going to put COVID behind us (and frankly, at this point, because of all the mask-holes I encounter that isn't a given), we all have to do our part, as annoying as it might be.

I was happy—and to be honest, surprised—that when we were out and about yesterday probably 60-70% of people we encountered were masked, so maybe it's finally sinking in that this shit isn't over yet.

And I'll say this much about being masked in public over the past two years…I haven't gotten any of my usual seasonal respiratory maladies. Going two years without being sidelined with bronchitis in winter is worth any inconvenience wearing a piece of cloth over my face may require.
