And before y'all jump down my throat, while I am a dog dad right now, the first furry companion I had as an adult was a cat whom I catnapped from my ex who was so tweaked out on meth he wasn't caring for her. I loved that little furball to death, and it killed me when, after five years together, she had to go live with my mom because I moved into a building—for a man—that didn't accept pets of any kind. (That should've been my first red flag.)

Yes, he's in shoes. It's Phoenix. It's July.

"Wha'cha doin' in the kitchen?"

…swallowed something he shouldn't have that's blocking his intestine and we're now awaiting surgery. No idea what it is that's stuck since we have puppy-proofed the house, but it's been an incredibly long four days for everyone involved.

That's Raffi (on the left) with his dad. Raffi has doubled his size in the five weeks we've had him, and he's now standing a few inches taller than Sammy. He's going to be a big boy.

But welcome nonetheless! Say hello to Raffi, the newest member of our family. He's an 8-week old Labradoodle.

Sammy is…adjusting…to the newcomer. Let's just say that.

"Why are you staring at that thing and not paying attention to me?!"

Our Sammy does that exact same thing.
