Pluribus
Upon recommendation from one of my readers (thanks, David!), I jumped into Pluribus on Apple TV on Tuesday. Screencaps had kept popping up on my Tumblr feed, so between that and this personal recommendation, I decided to give it a shot.
I was not disappointed. In fact, I ended up binging the entire first series in one day.
I’m not going to do a review; I’ll leave you to explore this review which is better than anything I could possibly put together and decide for yourselves if this series is worth your time..

IT: Welcome To Derry

Pleasantly surprised!
I liked the two part theatrical release of IT a few years ago. I kept seeing screencaps from Welcome To Derry appearing in my Tumblr feed but it looked like a cheap knock-off of the films. Still, they intrigued me enough that I finally sat down last night and started watching, and it was only the late hour that prevented me from binging the entire series to date. Yeah, it’s that good.
I really pulled me in without reservation was when the character Dick Hollerand was introduced. Does that name sound familiar? If you’re familiar with The Shining, it should. And then it all clicked. Same character. Same abilities. Both Welcome to Derry and The Shining are part of the same universe. Knowing this—and King’s running theme of government experimentation in areas it shouldn’t be—I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if references to The Mist as well as Dreamcatcher pop up as the series progresses.

Another Excellent Series Killed Off By Netflix
Honestly, I don’t know why I even bother any more. It seems we find an excellent series on Netflix and as we’re finishing up season one, we check to see if it’s been renewed. Nope. Gone forever. And the final episode is—of course—a cliffhanger.
Case in point: KAOS.
From SCREENRANT:
Why Netflix Canceled Kaos After Only 1 Season
Season 1 had a generally favorable reception, with a 76% critic score and 83% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Many reviews praised the performances, including Goldblum’s depiction of Zeus, and applauded the series’ dark comedy and social satire. Kaos season 1’s endingbrought many of the storylines to a satisfying conclusion, but it also set the stage for a second season. Unfortunately, Kaos won’t be able to deliver on that promise, despite the series’ largely positive reviews.
Kaos Reportedly Didn’t Accumulate Enough Viewership Numbers After Premiering On Netflix
This Happened Despite An Impressive Run In Netflix’s Top 10 Chart
According to Variety, Kaos was canceled because it didn’t hit Netflix’s viewership benchmarks in the weeks following its August 29 debut. Kaos received the most views during the September 2-8 period — the show’s second week on Netflix — accumulating 5.9 million views and landing the third spot on Netflix‘s Global Top 10 chart. Kaos stayed in Netflix’s top 10 for four consecutive weeks before dropping out the week of September 23-29. However, this streak was deemed insufficient to renew Kaos for season 2.
If Only…
Surprisingly Good!
After the last few installments from the Alien universe (especially Romulus), I wasn’t expecting much from Alien Earth. In fact, I was prepared to be sorely disappointed. But…wow! Was I not!
If you’ve been resoundingly unimpressed with the franchise since, oh, I dunno…PROMETHEUS…do yourself a favor a check this one out. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
