The 3-hour premier episode of Battlestar Galactica, in which this appeared, debuted in September 1978. The Three Degrees released The Runner on the LP New Dimensions, a month later in October.

SO True!

When Ben and I first started dating, I put on Frank Herbert’s DUNE (the SyFy miniseries) as I’d really loved it—despite some obvious flaws—and wanted to share it with him. About fifteen minutes in, we gave up on it because I realized how truly awful the “Planet of the Hats” motif was, and how distracting it was from the overall story.
