Nancy Mace Co-Sponsored a Transgender Rights Bill in 2021Nancy Mace’s flip-flop on transgender rights is a betrayal of equality

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced Wednesday that transgender women are not permitted to use bathrooms in the Capitol that match their gender identity, taking a stance on the hot-button issue that has overtaken the Capitol in recent days.
The policy — which Johnson announced in a public statement, a draft of which was first reported by The Hill — will also apply to bathrooms in House office buildings, changing rooms and locker rooms. It is unclear when he plans to publish the comments.Under House rules, the Speaker has “general control” of facilities in the chamber, giving Johnson the authority to issue the policy surrounding bathrooms.
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex,” Johnson said. “It is important to note that each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol.”
“Women deserve women’s only spaces,” he added.
Johnson’s statement — which was made on Transgender Day of Remembrance, recognized annually to memorialize trans people who died due to anti-trans violence — comes days after Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced a bill to bar transgender women from facilities on Capitol Hill that match their gender identity, a response to the election earlier this month of Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.).
It’s pretty cold to ban transpeople from bathroom across the entire Capitol complex on TransRememberance Day. I wonder if Trump’s Little Johnson handed them a mason jar? Southern charm remains.
But on the flip side, these dudes are now forced to use Nancy Mace’s bathroom, so there is some divine justice:

You really want these (trans) dudes in the ladies room?
Heh.
UPDATE 1: Nancy Mace thought of a new way of being a dick: Rep. Mace files bill to ban transgender women from all federal facility bathrooms in U.S.

News That Will Drive You To Drink
From Mock Paper Scissors:

I keep coming back to this idea of deporting up to 20M people, and the logistics to do it, and frankly the legal somersaults that a dumbo like a presumptive AG Gaetz and DHS Secretary Noem would have to do, the money it would cost, and the way the Courts would have to tie themselves in knots to give them permission to do it. I don’t see a way that it can be done. Even you-know-who in the graphic above didn’t get to 20M, and I’m not being flip.
We might be on the razor’s edge of fascism, but to pull this off, Hair Füror would have to suspend the Constitution, if for no other reason than to shove aside the entire notion of Due Process. You see, to deport anyone you have to have a court case, and I just cannot see the Supremes going along with jettisoning Due Process; at that point there is no Law, majesty or otherwise. But if Lord Damp Nut doesn’t suspend the Constitution, then he’s going to need enough judges AND courtrooms for 20M cases. And how long will that take to confirm that many new judges and build a gigantic number of courthouses? And how much will that cost? If this is really the plan, it will be tied up in courts until Fat Nixon eats one Big Mac too many.
And then there’s building the concentration camps. Where? Public lands? National Parks? I’ve read some nonsense about putting 20M people in our existing military camps and forts. We currently have 1.3M members of the military, so that would be roughly a 20-fold increase on existing infrastructure. It cannot be done.
None of this makes any sense to me, and I just don’t see how they can legally, financially, and physically do it. And that’s before the Billionaires come along and tell Hair Füror what this stunt will cost them.
