Replying to the meme about The US Postal Service now counting the date of the postmark on mail-in ballots, which would be several days after sorting. Now, this is NOT the answer by any means, and it would be so burdensome that most people wouldn’t do it. But last Tuesday I went to H&R Block to have my taxes done. I chose US Mail as my delivery option over Electronic sending from their offices, because H&R Block wouldn’t even start to send completed files electronically for another several days or so. (It was too early still for their systems). When I got to the Post Office, I asked for the envelope to be ‘Metered’ (with that red emblem across the upper right corner of the envelope). I wanted that date on the envelope, (for my own peculiar mindset), and got it!
