  1. To me, the "world" Trump seeks to re-create was in the late 1950s to 1970s. In THAT era, in those pre-K years for me, I was starting to notice things. The first car I saw which I really liked the looks of was a 1956 Chevy BelAir, yellow and green two-tone. Each new model year brought many new, innovative, and interesting features, especially bigger engines and more power. Exciting times to grow up in for me. And things just got better each year until the later 1970s, car-wise.

My parents were reaching their first years of higher-earning in their profession. Which meant we could afford a nicer car, new furniture, and me going to college.

Home entertainment was improving too! Stereo phonographs and radios. Color tvs were everywhere, too.

The economy worked well, with a strong military being a back-bone of it. Income tax rates were higher, to support lots of government spending on infrastructure, too. Which made things better for everybody.

Can't forget the racism of those times. Single females not being able to own real property, without jumping through hoops, And many other things of that nature, too. Places where real progress has been made in recent decades, that we do NOT desire to go back to!

"Low taxes" and "small government" will NOT get us there! But "efficient taxes" and "good government" CAN! PLUS efficient problem-solving rather than "kicking the can down the road," repeatedly. GET THE PROBLEMS SOLVED AND GET ON WITH THINGS! Stalling never got anything done. Whoops… that just revealed why we are where we are AND put the responsibility on the Republicans for keeping us there.

  2. Another Red Hat favorite belief seems to be another foreign phrase: Ni shagu nazad.
It was order No. 227 issued July 28, 1942 by Joseph Stalin acting as People's Commissar of Defense: Not One Step Back.
