  1. I certainly understand that orientation!! Rather than go into work every day with the orientation of just holding on just long enough to get to the age where Social Security is maximized, transition in the mindset of doing a better job than others, being better with customers (who might not really care how you feel toward them, or might not notice such things) with the desired end result that is when you ARE retired, letting the others keep doing their mediocre activities in a mediocre manner, whereas you were well above that level of execution in what you do.

    Then, when that door to work finally closes for you, you can smile about how, suddenly, people will realize just how bad they were doing in what they were doing, needing to upgrade. THEN they will truly appreciate you for what you did. That was my plan, I stuck to it, and many appreciated what I did for them. Made me feel good when they told me that, later.
