Original Rainbow, Leather, Bear, and Trans. That's it for this old man.
I mean, when you need a fucking chart, it's lost all meaning,
And while you're at it, bet off my lawn!
Once a legitimate blog. Now just a collection of memes 'n menz.

The other day someone posted yet another flag, this one with chevrons on both sides and yet another color scheme inside the new chevron. The best response was someone pointing out that the original chevron was supposed to indicate progress, but now it was just going nowhere. Then someone else pointed out that it was a perfect metaphor for the endless infighting of two fringe groups, boxing in the middle. Oy.
I have a replica of the original 8-color flag signed by Gilbert Baker in a shadow box in my office and that's enough for me. 🙂
I've said many times in comments on other blogs that the Rainbow Flag was a symbol of Pride and Celebration. It was never (to my knowledge) intended to signify gender or sexuality or sexual orientation. The colors of the rainbow are technically a continuum but divided into six distinct colors for presentation on a flag. The six colors were never meant to represent six different groups or subgroups. We still display the Rainbow Flag at our front door and that suits me just fine. Pride and Celebration.
