Got an app that won't go inactive? Restart the phone, and everything gets turned off. (I've got one map app that occasionally needs me to turn the phone off to get it to stop hogging the GPS signal.)
Another little known thing about the differences between AT&T and Verizon service on the iPhone. You don't have to update your "roaming" tower list on AT&T like you do Verizon. Just restart the phone, and when it reconnects to the nearest tower, the phone will download the most current list of "roaming" towers. Verizon users have to dial something like *228.
