From Mock Paper Scissors:
I keep coming back to this idea of deporting up to 20M people, and the logistics to do it, and frankly the legal somersaults that a dumbo like a presumptive AG Gaetz and DHS Secretary Noem would have to do, the money it would cost, and the way the Courts would have to tie themselves in knots to give them permission to do it. I don't see a way that it can be done. Even you-know-who in the graphic above didn't get to 20M, and I'm not being flip.
We might be on the razor's edge of fascism, but to pull this off, Hair Füror would have to suspend the Constitution, if for no other reason than to shove aside the entire notion of Due Process. You see, to deport anyone you have to have a court case, and I just cannot see the Supremes going along with jettisoning Due Process; at that point there is no Law, majesty or otherwise. But if Lord Damp Nut doesn't suspend the Constitution, then he's going to need enough judges AND courtrooms for 20M cases. And how long will that take to confirm that many new judges and build a gigantic number of courthouses? And how much will that cost? If this is really the plan, it will be tied up in courts until Fat Nixon eats one Big Mac too many.
And then there's building the concentration camps. Where? Public lands? National Parks? I've read some nonsense about putting 20M people in our existing military camps and forts. We currently have 1.3M members of the military, so that would be roughly a 20-fold increase on existing infrastructure. It cannot be done.
None of this makes any sense to me, and I just don't see how they can legally, financially, and physically do it. And that's before the Billionaires come along and tell Hair Füror what this stunt will cost them.
