When the world is falling apart, sometimes a boy just needs some show tunes to remind him of happier times.

My favorite song from Barbra Streisand is "Woman in love".
I know, I'm not being original, here :D. I found a few gem in her discography in the past. For example, "I'd better be glue" is so acrobatic. But I stopped searching. I will try anew, beginning with these Broadway albums 🙂
About "Woman in love", I like a few foreign adaptations of it.
And I'm still searching for other foreign versions. The French version from Mireille Mathieu is worth it too, for it's raw energy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAxOxticVE8
I also love the Greek one from Anna Vissi. I like to think that it's a plea to the goddess of love, Aphrodite. (Both Aphrodite and Anna Vissi are coming from Cyprus, and are speaking…. well… Greek). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo54uO_GcIA
Last but not least, the male cover -I mean the demo version from Barry Gib-, is a lost gem on its own. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XsLCEeVZLI
"Can't help loving than man" : Björk had a version of it.
She restarted her solo carrier in 1990, with a jazz album. It's called Gling-Gló. It's mostly in Icelandic. And it's very worth it. It contains a sense of joy and oddity, that makes it very fit for a Christmas mood.
