  1. I don't expect we'll *all* be dead by summer, but the deaths and destruction will be well underway. All the thinks President Musk is gleefully sledgehammering have repercussions, and they'll start hitting by then, and them start amplifying. Toss in a little bird flu to be treated with ketchup enemas or whatever, and things are gonna get uglier than my sister-in-law.

  2. In college, in the 80's, I was assigned to read The Fate of the Earth by an English professor. I was one of the few who actually took the time to read the book, but I am glad I did. It changed my entire perspective on the survivability of nuclear war and made me realize that the title above is very true. While we might survive the initial blasts from the bombs, but the radiation, nuclear winter and loss of food production would eventually kill us.
    It did not make me a non-proliferation advocate, but it did give me a sense of exactly how precarious our life on Earth really is.
