He Say…

…you BRADE RUNNAH!

Six months ago I didn't even know this record existed (even though I'd had the CD version since its release in 1994), but once I did of course I had to have it.

I'd forgotten how hauntingly beautiful this score was. My friend Barry wrote an excellent review for the SF Chronicle back in the day that I was hoping to quote from, but while attempting to locate it just now I realized that it—along with so many other things—has gone missing, no doubt tossed out in a fevered purge at some point.

  1. I guess you know about. coloredvinylrecords.com Also you can find Silent Running, not the original release but has green vinyl, on Amazon.

  2. I saw Blade Runner at the 'Egyptian' in Hollywood, three times. I lived about five blocks from that area, easy walk for a matinee. I got the first recording on tape by the New American Orchestra. I have also been to the Ennis , Frank Loyd Wright, house. in the movie. It has recently been completely restored and is as beautiful as ever. It was bought and restored by a great guy who some years ago bought the Harold Lloyd and also restored it. And he is also a liberal Democrat who is very popular here in Los Angeles. Oh, I have also been at the Harold Lloyd estate called 'Green Acres' at the time. ANYWAY… Glenn has some nice vintage vinyl. He has 'Silent Running' the original release vinyl is green. He had to go dig it out of the closet and show me, again. He has several other that he will never give up. Vinyl is so cool.

    1. Oh great. Now I'm going to have to Google "Silent Running Green Vinyl." Thanks, Mike.
