The amount of stupid on Facebook has reached epic proportions. I understand it's entertaining and fills a need in a lot of people's lives, but I'm done with it. I graduated high school nearly 40 years ago, and yet on Facebook, it's like I never left.
So I've disabled my account. (Because deleting your account seems to be impossible.) And have vowed to never log in again. We'll see how long it lasts.
I like it for many things, and dislike it for nearly as many. I subscribe to a lot of interesting news and infotainment pages, and FB allows for a lot better snippets than Twitter (which is kind of FB with ADD). I am "friends" with high school people of course, and also people from several past jobs. For the most part it is nice, and I got great support when I quit smoking. But TEH STUPID, IT BURNS is a constant hazard, particularly with those "friends" who cannot utter a thought without including Jesus, or those who bark FOX "News"/Rush Limbaugh talking points.
The recent Chick-fil-A controversy has had me unresonably animated and unable to control my responses to "I'm not homophobic, I just don't agree with gay marriage" "friends." I have de-friended a couple of people, but I find Facebook to useful to abandon.
I tried it, didn't like it. The husband has never had it.
