Feel old yet?
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon (1973)
Dark Side of the Moon needs no introduction. It is undoubtedly one of the most influential and well-known rock albums of the 1970s. But for some reason, I never heard it when it was new.
I only discovered this album late in life and my first thought was, "Where have you been all this time?!"
I can relate.
I must have been around 10 y/o in the mid-70s when an older brother bought that LP, but I was too busy in my pre-teen beatlemania to pay attention. Only when I reached 15 did I care to listen to that record he had left behind and… Wow! What a discovery it was, along with the albums from Yes and Genesis.
I wish there were more bands now whose members would master music as much as these guys did.
