  1. When I heard that news today, "broken" by a reporter who uncovered that fact, talking to law enforcement and others who were knowledgeable of the situation and guns, I was a bit taken aback by it. IF the aged AR-15 style gun is that bad, it should be outlawed for any non-military use . . . period. The law enforcement people talked on promise of anonyminity, but with no knowledge of what was on the other side of that classroom door, they wanted to wait for the swat team to arrive (from 60 miles away).

It was also mentioned that the Uvalde police had vests which would resist an AR-15 bullet, but the ones they had on would not. So, the whole deal caught them unprepared, but nobody apparently went back to get a better vest to put on, for some reason.

In any regimented, defined leader situation, the "rank and file" are not qualified to make decisions, even if they might go against what their "leader" might say or do OR be better than what their leader advocates for. Apparently no "suggestions" or "possible proposals" of going back for the better vests. So they sat as kids died.
