Okay, I’m a doggie dad now, but my first pet as an adult was a cat—Sasha—whom I rescued from my ex. She lived with me for five years, until I foolishly moved into an apartment building—for a man—that didn’t allow pets and she went to live out her life with my mom.

Call me crazy, but I still have her ashes in a little jade urn in my dresser…
