“Nothing gets done” as Republicans have gotten into a mindset that THEY are followers, not leaders. “Obstructing” is not leadership, although they tended to define it as such during the Obama years. So they need somebody to “lead” them.
Only problem is that they did not choose well! THEY ended up just like the other initial Republican Presidential candidates of 2016 on that debate stage. Trump was something they had never dealt with before! They did not know how to counter his insults and such, looking weak in the process, as he emerged as “The Strong One” of the group. The rest is history.
I’m wondering if a good number of the Republican legislators’ departures are being secretly done in shame. Sorry for what “created” and did to this fine country they swore to protect and uphold? As they made lots of money while in office.
