I love this—-
A few of my favorite things:
*First-floor bedroom. I can still climb a good set of stairs, but this is for maturing in place.
*Plenty of bathrooms on the first floor, not intruding on personal spaces.
*The garage is tucked away in the back and not front and center, and the front of the home.
*Great separation of living spaces.
*The entry and the exit to the back of the house are great for airflow. As they say in Germany, the custom of burping one’s home. I do it all the time. The windows/doors have to be opened every day, rain, snow, or shine. I lived in Germany for two years, and you see this every morning, along with airing out the bedding.
*The outdoor living spaces are not overly done. Simple but functional.
Yes, bring back homes with aesthetics. I saw a picture the other day of a suburban track of homes all lined up nice and pretty. I swore my soul left my body.
