The mask/social distancing mandates are returning to my workplace—for the unvaccinated as well as the vaccinated—starting Monday. They are however—as stated in the email announcement—strongly encouraging everyone to start immediately.
Once I heard that the Delta variant was infecting even a minuscule number of fully vaccinated folks I said fuck it…I'm masking up again like last year. Surprisingly, I'm seeing the number of masked folks rising when I'm out and about as well.
I haven't come this far in life and survived what I have to be knocked down by this—or any other—fucking COVID variant. I'm just not.
I know of two fully vaxxed people sick with delta variant. It's worse this time around
Many of us (liberals) feel the same way. I can't understand folks who would risk getting a disease just to "own the libs" or whatever the hell kind of statement they think they're making. All of our friends are masking up in public, and avoiding indoor restaurants etc. even though NM has been one of the "safer" areas of the country. I will say however, that the events of the past years has begun to take a toll on me. Feeling depression, irritability, lack of enthusiasm, boredom, and what I will call "desert fever" for lack of a better term. Hubs and I are hopefully keeping our vacation plans to go to CA (campground near the ocean) where we can social distance and enjoy the beaches post Labor Day.
