"Because you believe something is wrong, doesn't mean you make it illegal." ~ Brian Brown @ 47:55
After watching this, I am convinced Bryan Brown, Maggie Gallagher and the rest of these "protector of traditional marriage" buffoons will never move out of the 16th Century, no matter how many facts are presented to them.
And y'know, I kind of feel sorry for them, living out their pathetic little lives locked in such a rigid mindset, totally unable or unwilling to admit they're wrong.
Sad, really.
There are a couple of points that don't get made loudly enough, or often enough, and they are:
1) Civil marriage only includes religion if its participants WANT it there. Otherwise, there is no Jeebus. Atheists can get married. Interfaith couples can get married. The registrar at the county clerk's office doesn't ask to see your baptismal records. So, all of this "God says," and "the Bible says" is bullshit.
2) NOM and Focus on the Family and all the rest already ignore legal same-sex marriages from the states where it is legal. They regard them as fraudulent, and put the word "marriage" in quotes. They could continue to do so if marriage were legal in all 50 states. So, what's the fucking problem?
Thank you. Repeat often!
I got to 27 min. and had to stop. The blah, blah, blah from brown was more than I could take. Life is too short to spend listening to a person who has nothing better to do than make life difficult for others.
Too much money and really, what the fuck else are those two mental cases able to do?
