A map of bills restricting drag shows that are advancing around the country.
Dark green = bills progressing
Light green = lawmakers have expressed intention to file bills
Some bills age-restrict attendance at drag shows. Others redefine "adult businesses," which means most gay bars and even mainstream venues will not be able to get licenses they'll need to host drag shows.
Some of these bills are vaguely worded so that they can be used to arrest trans & gender non-conforming people just for existing in public.
When it comes to local drag show, brunches, Pride events… This map shows where drag performances could be criminalized.
Tennessee is set to be the first state to ban drag this Thursday 2/23. Kentucky also has Anti-LGBTQ legislation in the works. Harmful Anti-Trans leglislation is being pushed through these states, too.

Yes, most of the proposed legislation will always appear from Republican-dominated legislatures. From the map, it is very obvious which party is really dividing the nation. As Republicans continue to invent issues that have been around for decades that did not use to be issues. Look how many issues they have educated everybody about over the past two years! History, reading, cross-dressing (and a few other fetishes), and "paying attention to what's going on". THEY have forgotten that younger people are usually inquisitive enough to see what it is that is allegedly so bad, obviously. In reality, "Don't want them to know about it" in the Internet age is a bit unrealistic, by observation. The party of "little government" and alleged "freedom" certainly is desiring to tell people how to live their lives . . . just the opposite of what they allegedly stand for.
