  1. I love it.

Many years ago, while living in Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, I was in the home of a local jeweler and his wife. I loved how the floor plan was set up. Perfect for roommates. The bedrooms were, like the floorplan above, ringed along the perimeter of the home, and the daily activities of the kitchen, living room, and whatnot were in the center. I loved it.

The above is perfect. You could have the kids on the West side of the house and the parents on the East side. I love how the garage is situated. I may have stated here, but I hate, hate, garages taking up valuable real estate dead center in front. It just ruins the lines of the home. Who do I want to look at a nasty garage door? Tuck it on the side, in the back, or all by itself in the back. I had a friend in LA who had one of those older gems of a home. It sat on a slight hill from the street. The garage was in the back of the property, to the right of the home. There was a large sliding wooden fence that went across the driveway. You could see the tip of the roof of the garage from the street. He parked in front of the wooden fence, and I never saw him open the gate. The home was one of those older gems.

I love the above home, floor plan. The only thing we need to do is move it to a place with all four seasons and add a bit of landscaping. Nothing too fussy. Simple is the operative word.

If anything, I would add a televesion/den somewhere. Nothing big just large enough to sit a least a half dozen people. And sound proof the hell out of it.
