  1. It is always easy to blame others for things, rather than look at things in a careful eye to really determine what the real issues might be. As Republicans reputedly do not believe in science, this can be very hard for them, hence blaming others rather than themselves for anything.

It is also very easy to blame workers for their increasing expenses, too. Decreasing any "luxury" purchases is the first thing usually mentioned. Not everybody drinks Starbucks products, much less buying them from a Starbucks store. Or eats food with over-priced slivers of avocado on it. Although avocado is a healthy fat, which can help overall health.

While people were not going to drive-thru food places, we heard stories of them closing down early, or closing the drive-thru as they could not get people to staff them. Some businesses lamented they could not find workers, but for every one of those businesses which made "excuses", I discovered that other businesses in their same industry which, when I went through their drive-thru lane, I was greeted by young, smiling, and energetic YOUNG people who thanked me for my business. So, what were those businesses doing that the others were not?

As the number of "Please wait. We have a reduced staff in place to serve you . . . " sort of phone recordings proliferated. Companies discovered that in such "hard times", the customers would tolerate such better than in the past. Their way of cutting expenses! Cuts which did not come back when things got better.

As the Jobless Report reflects massive amounts of new jobs were created, yet "Now Hiring" banners are everywhere from the older businesses. So, where are these new jobs being created AND how many are un-filled for more than a week?

As the population expands and grows, more new employees are needed to support that activity. Just as the number of $400K new homes (in the country) also grows. With about $200K+ of rolling stock in the driveway and garage. On maybe one acre of land with a pool in the backyard. MONEY is somewhere OR with very good jobs, they can afford to buy that home 45 minutes farther from work and need to drive a late-model HD2500 diesel pickup truck to work. That 1+ pickup truck is needed to haul the various implements of "country life" around, like 54" zero-turn lawn mowers and such. One other possible factor fueling this growth can be "cheap money", which these opportunist real estate investor/owners are taking advantage of, driving the residential transaction price well into the $400K range. THEN, as their investment value increases, property taxes also increase . . . which they then protest with their taxing entities.

Certainly the Top 5% of Wage Earners have their "wealth" on display for all to see. As the other 90% wonder what they did to get there and the Top 1/2% are in their own little world.

Understand, too, that it IS very possible that the vast majority of company board members, who make decisions on things like worker pay, amenities, and retention identify and voted "Republican" in the last election.

Reagan championed "Trickle Down Economics", where when the company does good, the workers are rewarded with bonuses and pay increases. Makes good sense, BUT was found to not work way back in the 1980s. As in current times, pay bonuses go to the top officers of the corporation (who are doing their fiduciary duty to the shareholders) by using increased company profits to increase stock dividends and such AND increase their own performance bonuses as it was THEY who made that extra money for the company. Not that they did not do a good job, but after millions of $$$$$ yearly, how much more money do they really need?????

An observed problem is that during these times of "levelling", it always seems like a Democrat is in the White House, following years and decades of Republican blockades of easing into increasing the betterment of the working class. As the "Republican Working Class" want decreased taxes with expanded municipal/government services". AND to live in that desirable location in or near a large metro area . . . all at the same time. Connecting the dots seems so simple, but elusive for so many!
